Monsters & Bosses

Monsters on No Escape are much stronger than their 2004 levels, they attack on sight whatever your combat level, and the big ones drop Player's Souls.

What's different from OSRS and 2004

You never outlevel them

Aggressive monsters attack on sight at any combat level, everywhere on the map. The old rule of being left alone once you're twice their level doesn't exist here.

Multi-combat with monsters

Several monsters can attack you at once, and any number of players can fight the same monster. Only fights between two players are one-on-one (see PvP).

Kills pay souls

Spiders, scorpions and ghosts have no bones, so they drop 1 Player's Soul instead. The big monsters drop 3 to 25. See Souls.

Drop tables are in the client

Every monster's full drop table is in the Drop Tables panel on the left of the web client, so this guide doesn't list drops.

Where to train

Every spot below can be reached. Everything in these tables attacks on sight except the Goblin Village goblins, men, women and druids. Souls are per kill, and the numbers after Wilderness are the Wilderness level.

Dusty key. It works as in 2004: the Jailer's key frees Velrak, and Velrak gives you the dusty key. He hands you another whenever you don't have one.

Dragons and dragonfire

Green, blue, red and black dragons fight in melee, and one attack in four is dragonfire. Each number below is the most one breath can hit you for.

An antifire potion lasts 6 minutes a dose. Make it at Herblore 69 from a lantadyme potion and dragon scale dust, which you grind from the blue dragon scales that green and red dragons drop.

Getting an anti-dragon shield (it's called the Dragonfire shield in game): pickpocket Duke Horacio in Lumbridge Castle (Thieving 25), ask the Duke for one during Dragon Slayer, or take Father Urhney's trip to Elvarg, which hands you one.

Bosses

King Black Dragon

Level 238240 HPLair under the Wilderness
Getting there

The Lava Maze ladder (Wilderness level 42) and the lever beside it, as in 2004. You can't teleport out of the lair: leave by the lever inside.

How it fights
  • Up close, each attack is equally likely to be melee, dragonfire or one of three special breaths.
  • When a special breath hits, it has a 1 in 2 chance of an effect. Poison breath poisons you (starting at 8), ice breath freezes you, and shock breath lowers every stat except Hitpoints by 2.
  • The shield cuts the poison and freeze chance to 1 in 8. Against shock you need the shield and Protect from Magic for 1 in 8.

Elvarg

Level 125150 HP 25 souls a killCrandor
Getting there

Talk to Father Urhney in the Lumbridge Swamp and choose Tele To Elvarg Boss. It costs 5,000 Player's Souls from your inventory, needs a free slot, gives you an anti-dragon shield, and drops you at the gate of her lair.

To get home, take the secret wall from the Crandor dungeon into Karamja Volcano. Once you've opened it from the Crandor side, it opens for you from either side.

How it fights
  • From a distance she breathes fire. Next to you she breathes one time in four and uses melee the rest of the time.

Chronozon

Level 139150 HP 15 souls a killEdgeville Dungeon, Wilderness 2–3
How it fights
  • Only magic hurts him. Melee and ranged hits do nothing.
  • He shouts an element ("USE FIRE SPELLS!"). Only a Strike, Bolt, Blast or Wave of that element does damage, and every hit that lands makes him pick a new one. A wrong element does nothing.
  • He casts elemental blasts that hit up to 20 at any range, so there's no safespot. Next to you, half his attacks are melee.

Slayer

Slayer here isn't a skill with levels or XP. The Slayer expert in the Edgeville Dungeon (where Vannaka stands in OSRS) gives you kill tasks, each finished task earns Slayer points, and points buy supply cases. Your points and your current task survive death.

  • Choose Easy, Medium or Hard. Each monster on that list is equally likely.
  • Your first task gives you a Slayer gem that shows the kills you have left.
  • A kill counts for whoever did the most damage.
  • Cancel Task is free and costs no points.

The bosses count too: the King Black Dragon counts for black dragons, Elvarg for green dragons and Chronozon for black demons.
