Clue Scrolls

Treasure Trails work the way you remember, but on No Escape they're for real players only, the trails are longer, and the tools come from the Soul Shop.

What's different from OSRS and 2004

Real players only

Clues only drop when a real player gets the kill. The AI adventurers never get them and never do trails.

Longer trails

Easy trails have 4–5 steps, medium 8–10 and hard 12–14.

Hold as many as you like

You can carry any number of clues of any tier, trade them, and keep them in your deposit box. Each tier tracks its own trail.

No navigation quest

The sextant, watch and chart come as one kit from the Soul Shop, so you don't need the NPCs in the locked part of the map.

Getting a clue

The monsters you can reach that drop them:

Easy 1 in 128

Men and women, goblins, barbarians, Al-Kharid warriors, muggers, thugs, thieves, rogues, dark wizards, zombies, skeletons, hobgoblins and Black Knights.

Medium 1 in 128

Hill giants, moss giants, ice warriors, earth warriors, and the bandits Speedy Keith, Donny the lad and Black Heather.

Hard 1 in 128

Green, blue, red and black dragons, ice and fire giants, and lesser, greater and black demons. Hellhounds drop them at 1 in 64. The three bosses drop them at 1 in 16.

Where each monster lives is in Monsters & Bosses.

The tools

Clue tool kit, 1,000 souls

Father Urhney's Soul Shop sells a spade, sextant, watch and navigator's chart together. You need 4 free inventory slots.

Just a spade

One lies in Falador Park and another by Draynor Manor, and the Karamja general store sells them.

Coordinate digs need the sextant, watch and chart in your inventory. You can be one tile off when you dig. The sextant doesn't work underground.

The steps

  • Easy: hints and picture maps.
  • Medium: adds anagrams, coordinates, and steps that send you to kill someone for a key.
  • Hard: adds riddles and puzzle boxes, handed out by Oziach, General Bentnoze and Wilough.
  • Most hard coordinate digs are guarded: a Zamorak Wizard (level 74, 80 HP) appears and attacks with magic. Kill it, then dig again.

Rewards

Each casket holds several rolls, and every roll has a small chance to come from the rare list instead.
