AI Adventurers
Hundreds of AI adventurers live in the world with you: AI players who train, gear up, trade, form clans and hunt. They're meant to be a real threat, to you and to each other.
What they are
Think of each one as another player with its own mind. Every AI adventurer has its own goals, its own personality and its own memory, so no two play the same. They don't act as one team. Some play it safe, some are reckless, and some are hunters.
They train
They level their skills and combat on the same monsters and spots you use, and work their way up through better gear.
They bank and trade
They stand at banks, advertise what they're selling, and buy what they need, at their own prices.
They form clans
Some run clan chats of their own. Clanmates look out for each other.
They hunt
They pick fights with players and with other AI adventurers, and they loot what they kill.
The same rules as you
AI adventurers play by every rule you do. Nothing is handed to them.
- Their gear needs the same levels, and their XP comes at the same rates.
- They get skulls the same way, and town guards hunt them when they're skulled.
- Their teleports cost the same souls and charges, with the same hourly limit.
- When they die they lose what you would, and start a new life.
- They never get clue scrolls and never build bases. Those are for real players.
They're built to be fair, not perfect. Like real players, they misjudge fights, make mistakes and sometimes run when they shouldn't.
The threat
Anywhere, any time
The whole map is PvP, and they know it. Banks, training spots and roads all see fights.
They fight properly
Expect food, prayer, special attacks and switching tactics. A level-matched AI adventurer is a hard fight.
They see weakness
A player who's low on health, out of food or carrying loot is a tempting target, to an AI hunter as much as to a real one.
Bases aren't safe from them
They can break into a base the same ways a player can: force, a lockpick, or a key.
They fight each other too. A crowd of AI adventurers around a fight, a boss or a base may turn on each other before they turn on you, or after.
Dealing with them
Fight back
They can be beaten. Use the tools in the PvP guide: protection prayers, freezes, specials and good food.
Use the guards
An AI adventurer who attacked you is usually skulled, and guarded towns are dangerous for skulled players.
Bring friends
A clan makes you a harder target. Fights are still one-on-one, so take it in turns.
Living alongside them
- Trade with them. Send a trade request, face to face or by remote trade while they're at a bank. They want a fair price and won't give things away.
- Their loot is yours. Kill one and its items drop for you like any player's.
- Count the real players. The Player Threat on your status bar shows how many real players are online.
